Learning Objectives:

  • ADHD Help Every Child Shine (1 clock hr | 0.1 CEUs)

This training help those who are in contact or might be in contact with a child with ADHD, manage a classroom of children with and without ADHD and communicating with parents to better assist a child with ADHD in the classroom. During this training participants will:

  1. Distinguish the signs and symptoms of impulsivity, hyperactivity, and inattention disorder
  2. Explain positive qualities of ADHD
  3. Implement some strategies to manage a child with ADHD in the classroom
  4. Explain how to communicate successfully with parents of children with ADHD
  • Child Maltreatment I (2 clock hrs | 0.2 CEUs)

This training help those in contact with children on a regular basis, decrease the amount of reported child abuse and neglect cases and reduce the frequency and severity of child abuse and neglect seen. During this training participants will:

  1. Define eight (8) types of child maltreatment
  2. Recognize the signs and symptoms of child maltreatment
  3. Explain the risk factors contributing to child maltreatment
  4. Discuss six (6) real-life case studies relating to child maltreatment
  5. Report child maltreatment to the proper state officials
  • Safe Sleep SUIDS vs SIDS (1 clock hr | 0.1 CEUs)

Upon completion of this course, participants will understand the difference between SUID and SID and how to respond to an emergency. Learning objectives include:

  1. Define SIDS and SUIDS
  2. List the risk factors of SIDS
  3. Identify ways to reduce the risk for SIDS in a child care setting and at home
  4. Demonstrate the steps to take in the event SIDS occurs in a child care setting
  5. List ways parents/guardians to cope with grief
  • Shaking Baby Syndrome (1 clock hr  | 0.1 CEUs)

Upon completion of this course, participants will have gained the knowledge to identify the signs and symptoms of shaken baby syndrome and keep infants and young children safe. Learning objective include:

  1. Define abusive head trauma and shaken baby syndrome.
  2. Recognize the signs and symptoms of shaken baby syndrome.
  3. Explain the risk factors contributing to shaken baby syndrome.
  4. Discuss way to calm an infant
Material Needed:

  • Writing Paper
  • A pen or pencil
Prerequisite:

  • N/A
Requirements:

  • Access to a Laptop or Desktop
  • Internet connection. High speed broadband access (LAN, Cable or DSL) is highly recommended for the optimal learning experience.
  • A graphical browser is required, such as, Chrome, Firefox, etc.
  • An E-mail account that is accessible.
Instructions:

Participants will have two attempts to take the final assessment and must pass with a 70% or higher to earn a certificate of completion and 0.7 CEUs.

Please note there will be no extra attempts to re-take the final assessment, once you have started the final assessment be sure to complete it without interruption. If you are not able to pass the final assessment with a 70% or higher we encourage you to consider taking another course that meet your requirements or wait 30 days before you re-take this course.
